It's a Great Time to Sell Your Home
Today we will be speaking about what has been happening in the real estate market in DuPage and Chicago and how sellers are benefiting from current market conditions.
  • Seller's Market: A seller's market occurs when there is more demand than supply. Essentially you have too many buyers and not enough homes, so this puts sellers at an advantage because they own a commodity. 
  • Inventory is currently very low in DuPage County. We probably have about 50% of the amount of homes that we had when the market was at its peak. 
    • About 10% of our inventory sells every 30 days, and our average days on market is going down.  
  • Buyer demand has increased significantly for a few different reasons:
    • Economic conditions are primed for buyers, interest rates are still historically low, and there are many great incentives out there for buyers. This has made homes much more affordable
  • One of the biggest challenges in today's market is dealing with issues from appraisals. You will need a strong and competent Realtor to get the proper value for your home. 
  • Buyers can expect to see multiple offers on homes that are in good condition and priced well
    • To combat this, you will need to put down a very strong offer on a home that shows how qualified you are to buy it. I can help to write a strong offer that highlights all of your strengths as a buyer.
